White Wednesday

I think white looks great against a green background.

This picture sort of answers your question, doesn't it Marilyn!

toes tuesday

Here are two shots of my toes.
In the first shot I was busy attacking the lens cap.

I have to work especially hard to keep my beautiful pure white coat clean.
There's another shot of my toes.

My toes aren't as floofy as yours Marilyn.

I'm going to miss you.

Aren't these roses beautiful Marilyn?

One of my mom's students gave them to her the last day of school.

They are for you!

Looking very formal on Saturday

Here is a picture of me in my tuxedo. I will be the best mancat at my Whitester friends Princess Pooter and Rascal's wedding tomorrow at the Catster Forum. Next to me, of course, is the beautiful Marilyn MonREOW, wearing a red gown I sent her early in our relationship. I wish I could actually get her next to me in the picture.
I think we make a striking couple.

A poem for Marilyn

translation:
On dainty white paws
She walks silently into the room
Looking for chin scritches.
And as the scritches come
She lifts her pure white head
Up … up … up …
Ah—such a beautiful Whitester.

White Cat Wednesday

I'm showing off some of my whiteness on Wednesday.

Marilyn ... I hope you like this shot ... it's taken from a different perspective.

A Tritina for Marilyn
You're the kitty who can make
My heart beat fast inside me
When you wear your kittypie smile.

Look at me ... now i'm wearing a smile!
Because you make
A happy mancat out of me.

Yes, Marilyn, you've got me!
Look ... look how you make me smile ...
Thinking what a great couple we make!

Marilyn ... you make me smile!

Sitting on the Wall with Jeter

Jeter and I were on the Wall this morning.
He was commenting on the poetry that Marilyn and I write to one another.
He thinks it's special ... sensitive ... sweet.

I'm glad that Jeter appreciates poetry and this mancat's affection for his beautiful Tennessee gal.

Dorsimbra?

You are pure white and truly very smart
Your poetry moves me and makes me smile
Your rhyming words will always touch my heart
Making this difficult job well worthwhile.

Look! You ...
While resting atop
The stereo receiver
You conceive... you compose!

I'm challenged, but plan, wondering aloud
"Can I pull off this Dorsimbra for you?"
After all, I'm but a cat... but a cat
Albeit white and truly very smart.

I AM THINKING ABOUT A DORSIMBRA!
"enjambment can help to achieve fluidity between stanzas, while internal rhymes and near-rhymes can help tie the stanzas together. "
I'm in trouble!

Whitey Ford Wednesday

This is my brother Whitey Ford as a young kit.
Notice the smudges on his forehead.
He's cute, isn't he Marilyn?
Here's Whitey as a handsome Whitester.
He's quiet ... keeps to himself ... but, all-in-all, he's a fine brother.

My first 5 days

Day 1: Mom and Dad receive a phone call from the *North Shore Animal League. There is a pure white kitten that is looking for a home. Mom and Dad go to NSAL and see me in my cage. They fall in love ... fill in the paper work ... make a donation ... and take me home...where I am sequestered in a bathroom!
Day 2: I meet Dr. Landerfeld, my veterinarian. She likes my name ... Mickey Mantle. After examining me and giving me my shots, she decides that I can meet my brother Whitey Ford who was adopted exactly one week before!
Day 3: Whitey and I get to know each other. We spend most of our time in the bathroom. Our sister Kallie is slightly annoyed that we're there ... so we are separated until we can be properly introduced.
Day 4 and Day 5: Whitey and I slowly get to know Kallie (who is a good friend to me now) I spend a lot of time playing with Whitey ... and eating my meals. Mom, Dad, and the 2-legs play with us.
Whitey Ford and me ... in the beginning!
*My family had just lost their cat "Sydney" and put out the word that they were looking for another white cat. They had adopted Syd from the North Shore Animal League and called them after he went to the Bridge. Dr. Landerfeld found Whitey Ford for them. Even though they had their white kitty ... they couldn't resist me.

A Sunday Triolet for Marilyn

I learned that a Triolet is a member of the Rondeau family. I did not know that ... but then, I learn something new every day... thank you Marilyn.

Here is my Triolet to Marilyn.

She sits atop the JVC

writing poetry ... lost in dreams

of her whitelove--Mancat Mickey.

She sits atop the JVC.

Her dreams are filled with images of me.

She's tipsy on love's sachet it seems.

She sits atop the JVC

writing poetry lost in dreams.

The Saturday scratch

Dear Marilyn.
I discovered this scratch on my nose today.
Does it make me look more mancat-ly?

Meet my friend Colors

I would like to introduce you to a friend of mine.
His name is Colors and he is my neighbor.
He likes to visit my yard and hang out.
He's a very handsome mancat.

What do you think of Colors, Marilyn?

Thursday, June 7, 2007

Just having fun!

Dear Marilyn,
What a coincidence! I wanted to post some funny photos of me today!
You're on the JVC ... I'm on the wall!
Just having some fun and thinking of you!

an Etheree for Marilyn

I wrote an etheree for Marilyn.

I hope it's ok.

My
little
"Mariloaf",
"Meaty Kitloaf",
is lounging so sweet
hiding her arms and legs
giddy and happy because
she's my special pin-up girl who's
admired by Jeter and Laffin...
but she is my loveydovey girlcat!

Your-Mick

Jeter worked his way into my Pleiades for Marilyn

Who was it that said he had a pin-up next to his food dish?
What a wonderful idea!
I decided to put a pin-up of Marilyn next to my food dish.
It's one of my favorite shots of her atop the JVC.
My food tastes even more delicious!
Marilyn
My Tennessee gal
Makes my whiskers twitch and
My "meow" twitter
Maybe a little too loud, which results in
My brother Jeter
Mumbling in his "jeteresque" way
"Mickey--yer over da top!"
Marilyn--I love "Tennessee Waltz" ... even though I know I haven't lost you!

A Chair is for Dreaming

Both Marilyn and I have a favorite chair.
She shares her favorite chair with her mom.
I love my red chair.
I noticed that our chairs have white towels covering the seat.
We have so much in common.
Here I am ... on my favorite red chair... dreaming of my Tennessee gal.
