I, too, get scritches on a regular basis.

Monday Mail Call!

The mailman actually rang the doorbell to ask about Mickey Mantle and Marilyn MonREOW today!

I explained that "Yes, I am Mickey Mantle ... and my fabulous kittypie is the beautiful Marilyn MonREOW." He said "Ah ... I see!" and handed me this envelope.

I was so excited.

I ripped it open and read the note from Marilyn. It was beautiful!

I love Temptations ... what a treat ...

The new mousie is a great gift! It squeeks!

I put it in my mouth, took it downstairs, and hid it in a safe place where Jeter can't get at it!

I'm one lucky mancat!

How I Got My Name

My beautiful Kittypie tagged me for a great meme ... and now that the Yankee/Red Sox game is over ... I can get to work on it!

I was named for the great Mickey Mantle of the New York Yankees.

"The Mick" has been my dad's idol since he was a little boy.

When my brother was adopted a week before Mom and Dad found me at the North Shore Animal League, Mom thought it would be cute to name him Whitey Ford, Mantle's teammate and best friend. When I was adopted, Mom (that's right ... the girl from Boston herself) decided I should be named for my dad's favorite baseball player of all time!

We sort of resemble one another!

ps ... in a very exciting game ... the Yankees beat the Red Sox tonight 8-7. I wish my brother Jeter was home to celebrate the victory with me.

My mom was teaching her 4th graders when the principal called her out of the room and asked "Do you have anyone in the World Trade Center?"

The principal didn't go into detail and Mom went back to teaching.

She didn't learn how our lives had changed until noon that day.

You can see New York City from my town ...

That day you could see the smoke from where the towers had stood.

We remember those who lost their lives on September 11th.
